My name is Nico Poblete, I am from San Diego, California currently living in Las Vegas. I have studied at The Art Institute with a Bachelors Degree in Digital Film and Video Production. My experience with videography started off with shooting amateur videos for the web. This has developed into a passion of storytelling and cinematography. What I hope to portray in my work is the connection with the audience, whether it is inspirational or emotional. I strive to get the most out of every story and bringing it to life, sharing it with others.

Week 1: My Voice

It all began with a little Sony megapix camera that my parents gave me when I was 10. Whether it was family vacations, performances, and even just boys being boys, I would always capture every little moment with my camera. I have grown into being a cinematographer, who expresses an art through making motion pictures. My goal is to always have a meaning behind every shot, and expressing its feelings or emotion. I always find to capture every detail through unique camera movements. It also creates a visual element that will keep the audience entertained and to give another outlook on topics presented. When I first watched the film "Children of Men" in 2006, I honestly thought that I just watched the worse movie of all time. Though this was before I even thought of becoming a film major, but now it has been a big inspiration to my cinematography style. What really got to me was the use of natural light in the scenes and the use of "long shots". I found that the long shots help make a dramatic impact to the audience as if you were apart of the scene itself. This is the same feel I want to portray when I produce narrative shorts and I try to implement them every time.

My name is Nico Poblete and I am a Videographer. Portraying a story through a cinematic look better allows me to express emotions through the art of motion pictures.
