EOC Week 6: Seduction of the Online Web Surfer
One of the techniques to draw employers in to my website is to have a sizzle reel that is 15 seconds long. The video would be on the front page of my website along with all my contact information already at the top. With the sizzle real in the front page, employers would automatically be taken into a glimpse of my best work and in hope to want to look through my gallery to further more have a better insight of my latest works. Also in my gallery, you will find my demo reel, which is a 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 minutes long of my work. Forbes suggest that we should focus on content creation. "Good content markets itself. When you put the effort into building and promoting great pieces of content, the natural result is more traffic to your website via shares and referrals." It is said to always have fresh content every time anyone visits your page. One way to do this is to have a twitter account placed out somewhere on the side of your front page. The content would have updates on your latest works and projects and even suggestions on new camera gear, articles, etc. This allows people to build a certain relationship with you and trust that every time one visits your page that you will have updated information on the latest trends. Another plus about this technique is that people are allowed to ask questions via social media. "When you see people asking questions online, provide whatever helpful information you can. Doing so will earn you both website traffic and customers for life." - Forbes Magazine.
